National Climate Demonstration

Over 50 Groups and Organisations are Endorsing the National Climate Demonstration

November 2 2025, 06:38pm

On November 15th, the world rises against Fossil Power. From every corner of the globe, people will flood the streets of capitals to demand an end to the era of fossil fuels. COP30 in Brazil must be a turning point — ten years on since Paris, our leaders have to act. In the heart of the Amazon, where indigenous communities are clinging on to protect one of Earth’s most vital ecosystems, the call will be clear: no more fossil-fuelled destruction. We will listen to their call, and take to the streets of Dublin in our thousands to march in solidarity, and demand faster and fairer climate action from our government.

It has never been more crucial to take action on climate change to stop all out climate chaos. Renewable energy is cleaner, cheaper, and safer than fossil fuels, yet we remain locked in to dirty, expensive fossil energy, thanks to the power and influence of the fossil fuel industry.

That’s why we need to join together, stand up and speak out, demanding that the Government deliver faster and fairer climate action: fast enough to do Ireland’s fair share internationally and fair enough to make life better for people here and now.

We want a cleaner, safer, fairer future that breaks away from fossil fuels.

The fossil fuel industry wants to use its power to lock us into dirty, expensive, imported fossil fuels for decades to come.

We want warmer homes, lower energy bills, cleaner, healthier air, cheap and accessible public transport.

We want a just transition towards a future where no one is left behind, and where women and disadvantaged communities, who have so far been excluded from the benefits of climate policies, are finally placed at the heart of change.

We must stand up to fossil power.  People power is the best way to convince decisionmakers to act. Everyone is welcome, and everyone is needed.

Our Government wants to build more gas terminals and pipelines, and to continue to facilitate  data centres to drive the profits and expansion plans of big tech, even though this means that the grid cannot accommodate new housing.

Energy industries, large energy users and their political backers want to dilute, delay or derail the transition away from fossil fuels.

We stand for justice, peace and a sustainable future that puts people and the planet first.

The fossil fuel industry is deeply intertwined with human rights abuses and ecological destruction. In Ireland, these activities are being facilitated through fossil fuel investments in our financial institutions to gas-fired data centres and the tech that is being used to deliver death and destruction in Gaza.

We demand faster and fairer climate action from our government. Fast enough to do Ireland’s fair share internationally and fair enough to make life better for everyone here and now.

Governments want to put economic growth and corporate profits ahead of our health, safety, and shared future, despite the impacts of climate breakdown accelerating around the world - from droughts and wildfires to storms and floods, with the people who have done the least to cause this crisis being hit the hardest. For young, old, and for future generations’ peace and prosperity- we need climate action now!

Together we are far more powerful than the fossil fuel industry. Together we will build an unstoppable global climate movement.
